Sarah Clarke was born on 16 February 1972 in St. Louis, Missouri, U.S.A. She is the daughter of Ernest Clarke, an engineer, and Carolyn, a homemaker. She has studied Fine Arts and Italian from the Indiana University. There, she became the member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.
She was inclined towards acting from the days when she was studying at Bolonga, Italy, during her senior year. She retuned to America and continued her studies, as she started learning architectural photography. She had a chance to attend free acting classes at the cultural arts center in return for clicking the photographs of the center. She also learnt acting at the Circle in the Square Theatre School, at Axis Theatre Company and at The Willow Cabin Theatre Company.
She is married to Xander Berkeley, whom she met on the set of ‘24‘ and after seeing him for one year, she married him in 2002. They have one daughter named Olwyn Harper.
Her career in acting started in 1999 with her appearance for a commercial for Volkswagen. Then, she acted in a short film ‘Pas de deux’. She won the Outstanding Performance award for her role in this film, in the Brooklyn Film Festival. She began to appear in minor roles in films such as ‘All About George’ and ‘The Accident’ and in television shows like ‘Ed‘ and ‘Sex and the City’.
She is best known for her role in ‘24‘ as “Nina Myers“. She appeared in a guest role in one episode of ‘House‘ and ‘Life‘. She has also acted as “Renee Dwyer” in ‘Twilight‘. Recently, she has been cast in a lead role, in a series ‘Trust Me’.
She earned the nomination for the Screen Actors Guild Awards - 2003 in the category of Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series for ‘24‘. She has won the Golden Satellite Award - 2003 in the category of Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Drama for ‘24‘.
